On Sunday, April 11th, Washington Street School's 5th and 6th Grade Chorus sang the National Anthem at the NY Islanders' game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Over 400 students, parents and staff came out to support our chorus. It was a wonderful afternoon, and we can all be so proud of these talented children and their gifted vocal music teacher, Mrs. Kelly Tesar. In addition to Mrs. Tesar, special thanks go out to Mr. Stella for organizing this exciting event. Bravo, Chorus!!

ReplyDeleteI thought this was such a fun event for everyone involved and I am so proud of the students that participated! I think the smiles on every child's face after they left the ice was the highlight of the entire event and something that they will all remember for a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky to have a Music teacher as wonderful as Mrs. Tesar!
For those of you that didn't stay for the entire game, the Islanders did tie the score in the third period and eventually lost in overtime.
