On Tuesday, January 5th, the Fourth Grade at Washington Street School welcomed Robert Vetter and Journeys into American Territory, a cultural arts program designed to give students an understanding of Native Americans. Our fourth graders spent the day immersed in the life and culture of the Iroquoian and Algonquian people of our region. The workshop leaders taught the students about their history, told traditional stories and introduced crafts, songs and dances of this most interesting culture. It was an amazing and fun learning experience for all involved.
